I'm playing Emergency 4 on my laptop, and I'd like to know if there's a way, using a button or setting, to return to the desktop without having to close the game completely?

The game freezes when I try to exit, while playing BFE submod Sittingen, and I can't quit unless I go to the task manager and end the game there. I can play the mod; the only problem is exiting it.
